Allen Iverson 23pt vs Kobe Bryant Lakers 09/10 NBA *third quarter reminiscent of 2001 Finals
AI vs. Kobe delivered the throwback duel fans paid to see. Just like in the 2001 NBA Finals, Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers topped Allen Iverson’s Philadelphia 76ers. Bryant roused the 20000 fans who came to jeer him as much as they did to root on the 76ers, scoring 24 points to lead Los Angeles to a 99-91 win over Philadelphia on Friday night. “It was a like a trip down memory lane for me,” Bryant said. “It was exciting.” Bryant always packs the Wachovia Center when he makes his yearly visit to his old stomping grounds. He rarely disappoints in putting on a show for the fans who boo his every touch yet line the court to snap countless photos. While Bryant is still in his prime, Iverson is in a steady decline. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said the All-Star showdown misses some of the buzz of years past when both could make the argument they were tops at their position. Don’t tell Iverson. He crossed-over and crashed his way toward a season-high 23 points. Iverson and Bryant are responsible for Philadelphia’s only two sellouts this season. Iverson’s first game back in Philadelphia drew 20664, and Bryant helped draw 20809 on Friday. Bryant led Lower Merion High School to a state championship in 1996 and visited his old school on Thursday. He said this year’s homecoming was the first time he ever felt goosebumps when he was introduced from Lower Merion High. “I think because when you get older, you get more and more nostalgic,” the 31-year-old Bryant said. “You start reminiscing …

Classic A.I.! I missed him! Come on Answer, get an answer from a team PLEASE! We wanna see you play againn! T.T
This game proves he can still drop 20 to 25 a night easily.
@westnellaz 3 of them as shaq’s sidekick and the rest with gasol, odom, bynum, phil and the last one also with artest. how many teams do i have to repeat, iverson hasn’t had such a great support for his whole career, that’s why ignorants like you call him a bum. championships is one of the stupidest ways to compare individual players because there are too many factors into that which are independent of the leader.
@westnellaz a fucking clown is what your parents call you. either tell me where i said what was going on in your city or learn to read, shithead. i told you already that you can meet lakers fans outside of la, and that works for any other team.
@ailsdb YEAH YOURE RIGHT THATS WHY THAT BUM HAS NO RINGS AND KOBE HAS 5..AND PLEASE STOP BRINGING UP KWAME ALL LAKER FANS KNOW THAT HE WAS IN NO WAY A IMPACT TO OUR TEAM..SHIT CHRIS MIHM WAS BETTER THAN KWAME
@ailsdb YOURE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY AND YOURE SITTING HERE TELLING ME WHAT WAS GOING ON IN MY CITY???? YOURE A FUCKING CLOWN
@westnellaz in 06 amare was out for the whole season and they were playing boris diaw at center so how could they be the best team in the league? and if you’re talking about 07, dirk won the mvp that year and the mavs won 67. i had no doubts suns were better but fanatical lakers fans said things like ‘we would’ve won if kwame wasn’t injured’ etc. unfortunately you’re not able to see that iverson was always let down by his team, that’s why he has no rings. no gasol, odom, bynum, artest, phil….
@westnellaz just imagine that people from outside the usa also are interested in basketball and also can be fans and talk about their teams… typical american. i’ve heard lakers fans saying he has a lot of potential and is a top5 bigmen defensively in the league. yes, i know it’s bullshit but that’s what they were saying. and just because guys you know didn’t say things like that it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen at all.
@westnellaz with just kobe and gasol they wouldn’t have gotten to the finals and won. kobe is often a bricker and gasol disappears on the road. their depth is very important and you’re disrespecting them and giving all the credit to kobe. bynum did play 65 games, you could try checking it instead of pretending he didn’t. odom is one of the bench 6th men in the league and if averaging 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists is invisible for you, then i guess only kobe is visible with his bricks.
@ailsdb please at that time the suns were clearly the best team in the league when they played the lakers that year when nash won the mvp…the lakers were lucky they didnt get swept..lakers starting lineup at that time..smush parker, kobe, luke walton, lamar odom, and kwame brown..didnt the suns win like 67 games that year???kobe was obviously let down by his team..
@ailsdb youre not from the usa and youre claiming you know what lakers fans were saying???? we made an excuse that kwame brown was hurt???? bro if you ask any laker about kwame brown theyd tell you he is one of the worse players the lakers have ever seen…youve just been labled a clown
@ailsdb youre right hes not the only good person on the team thats why i said 2 people…and who got the lakers to the finals..please dont say odom fisher are artest..i will give them credit they stepped up in the most important game of the year but without kobe clearly they wouldnt have got there..and andrew bynum did not play 65 games this season so knock that shit off…and please lamar dosent even start most of the time hes on the floor hes nearly invisible…
@westnellaz because he had a team of offensive scrubs and his ‘ineffectiveness’ and ‘ballhogging’ let that team score any points at all and have any offense at all. in the nuggets where the opponents’ defense couldn’t focus entirely on him his fg% went way up. what type of elite leader loses a 7-game series leading 3-1? what type of a leader insults his teammates in the media? what type of a champion talks about pluto after 2-3 bad years? what kind of ‘all-time great’ shoots 6-24 in finals g7?
@westnellaz idiotic excuses like ‘we lost to the suns because kwame was injured’ or other bullshit like this. don’t remember exactly now, it’s been a while but i’m sure i heard things like that. i’m not even from the usa so i don’t really give a shit where was kobe born and stuff like that. and i hate the lakers because of kobe, entirely.not because of their history.im just saying kobe was extremely lucky to get to a well run organization, if not he would end up like ai, t-mac, carter and so on.
@westnellaz is playing 65 games ‘missing most of the season’ for you? k-mart missed the whole season for the nuggs. fisher hit huge shots in playoffs, particularly game 7 when kobe was busy shooting 25%, artest is the best perimeter defender in the league and odom is a very good rebounder and a pretty good defender who can also score some. don’t pretend that only kobe is good on the lakers because noone will buy that. everyone would love to have such a ‘horrible’ team.
@ailsdb and please what type of elite scorer shoots 38 and 39% in a season and averages 30 ppg while doing it..thats clearly a ball hog stats like that shows me he should have passed the ball the whole season
@ailsdb and what exactly excuses did the lakers make??? i was born and raised in l.a. we have always supported the lakers through thick and thin so knock it off..its people like you who hate the lakers because of there rich history..and not to mention is home of some of the greatest hoopers you have/will ever see…and dont forget 17 rings…and dont get mad kuz we stole kobe from philly..( kobes voice] philly is not my home l.a. is
@ailsdb first off bynum has plastic legs and has missed out most of the past 2 seasons..d fish averaged 7 ppg shooting 38% fromm the field..artest shot a measely 40% from the field averaging 11 ppgdont get me started about the bench because we all know the bench is horrible..odom is one of the most inconsistent bball players of all timei guess people like adam morrison and luke walton make this the best overall team in the league…theres only 2 good players on the lakers and we know who that is
@ailsdb yeah youre right he won 5 rings with absolute luck…and please tyron lue shut allen iverson the fuck down in the finals remember that??? but i willadmit a.i. makes my top 5 of all time..and for the record i respect your opinion this is what i do i debate about kobe all day so dont take it personal..even when i call people out of there name im not serious….but much respect to a.i. he was a thrill to watch
@westnellaz LOL Kobe is the best player in the league but he never could shit on ai. Let alone guard him.
@westnellaz check the stats my man. last season kobe had 32.3 usage % while iverson only had 23.0. iverson has never had ~32 since 05/06 season but back then kobe had over 38%. but suuure, iverson is a selfish ballhogger and kobe is a great teammate and team player. please…..
@westnellaz what’s sad is that you dont remember the excuses lakers fans were making in 2005-07.now kobe is a huge champion cause he has a team that has 10 times more talent than anyone else in the league(talking about 09-10 season so don’t talk about the heat).give ai(when he was in his prime)bynum, gasol, artest, odom etc and he’s gonna be a champion and kobe would be the sucker.thats pure luck to get drafted to organization like the lakers and have a great team and phil almost the entire career.
@westnellaz right now k-mart is the centerpiece of the nuggets defense, how can you say he wasn’t a factor?kobe is also a scorer and has a much more awful personality than ai. remember where he was till the lakers got gasol for free?iverson has also a lot of assists and steals, dont tell me you expect a 6′0 guy to get rebounds and blocks…ai played 10 years in philadelphia not talking about pluto once,he’s loyal.kobe was just lucky in his career.i don’t know what t-mac has to do with this.
@deenzilla actually this was a related page to a kobe bryant video i was watching so i thought it was kobe shitting on a.i. and honestly i swear on my lord i still havent even watched this video
@westnellaz Your ignorance is so narrow minded it’s almost funny.. Why are you watching a 7 minute Allen Iverson video ?
